Clear FiltersDraughtsman elevated stools provide ergonomic seating for professionals at raised desks, drafting tables, and laboratory benches. An extended height adjustment and a supportive footring allow these stools to maintain correct posture where standard office chairs are too low for the work surface.
Who Needs a Draughtsman Stool?
Draughtsman stools serve architects, designers, and lab technicians who work at elevated surfaces. The high chairs bridge the height gap between the user and the worktop, which improves ergonomics and reduces physical strain. This design is specific to non-standard desk heights.
What Types of Draughtsman Stools Are Available?
Our draughtsman stool collection includes models suited to different professional environments in Kenya. Inventory includes stools with the following features:
- Stools with Backrests: These models offer lumbar support for maintaining posture during long work sessions and often feature mesh backs for air circulation.
- Backless Draughtsman Stools: This type supports tasks requiring frequent movement, which is common in workshops or laboratories.
- Adjustable Components: Models feature height-adjustable seats, footrings, and sometimes armrests for a personalised setup.
- Material Finishes: We stock stools in easy-to-clean vinyl for clinical settings, breathable mesh, and upholstered fabric for office use.
How to Select the Correct Draughtsman Stool
Selecting the correct elevated stool affects both comfort and safety. The following factors guide the purchasing decision for a professional workspace.
Assess Your Workspace Height
You should measure your desk or counter height before purchase. The correct stool allows your thighs to be parallel to the floor, or angled slightly down, with your feet resting on the footring. This measurement ensures proper ergonomic alignment.
Confirm Footring Adjustability
A height-adjustable footring is a required feature because your feet will not touch the ground. The footring provides stability and prevents pressure on the underside of the thighs. This support is necessary to maintain healthy blood circulation.
Consider Your Daily Tasks
The duration of your tasks determines the need for back support. A simple backless stool suits short, intermittent use. A stool with an ergonomic backrest and lumbar support is necessary for tasks requiring hours of seated work.
